Ráth Chairn (anglicized as Rathcairn) is a small village and Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking area) in County Meath, Ireland. It is about 55 km northwest of Dublin.
Ráth Chairn Gaeltacht was founded in 1935 when 41 families from Conamara were settled on land previously acquired by the Irish Land Commission. Each family was provided with a Land Commission house and a farm of approximately 8.9 hectares (22 acre), a sow, piglets and basic implements. A further 11 families joined the original settlers in 1935. In all, 443 people moved from Connemara to the Ráth Chairn area. In 1967 Ráth Chairn received official recognition as a Gaeltacht, following a local campaign. Today, it and the nearby village of Baile Ghib make up the Meath Gaeltacht.
A cooperative (the “Ráth Chairn Cooperation Society”) was formed in 1973. Ráth Chairn has since grown into a village with a Catholic church, community hall for dramas, Comharchumann Ráth Chairn and RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta (also used by Coláiste na bhFiann during the summer months), sports facilities, an all-Irish primary and secondary school, a library and a pub (An Bradán Feasa). Several facilities in Ráth Chairn host children and adults wishing to learn Irish, and residential Irish language courses, Coláiste na bhFiann, are run for teenagers in the summer months.

Are you contemplating giving your house or business a fresh look? Do you have to fix water stains on ceilings and walls or over walls in which mould has been removed? It may be tempting to do the task yourself, which can lead to cost savings. But, there are many reasons you should consider hiring a professional painter and decorator service.
Prices of Equipment
Hiring a professional painter and decorator means that the painter comes will all of the tools they will need to do the work properly, will clean those tools up whenever they’re completed and will require them away to be saved elsewhere.
Protection of Your Property and Preventing a Mess
A professional painter and decorator will have the ideal gear and be educated and experienced with the way to protect furniture, floors, cupboards, paths and other items that you don’t need painted out of any damage. If your job entails staining, an expert will have the right equipment and expertise to use the stain properly to achieve the right finish and once achieved, protect that finish.
A professional painter will also completely clean the work area once the project is completed.
Preparation is Key
A professional painter and painter will know that preparation is the trick to a great looking, long-lasting paint job. Areas with mold or water staining may require further treatment and diluting until they are prepared for a last paint job. It is a lot of work and if it’s not done properly with proper tools and techniques, it will not result in a quality finish.
Skills and Patience
Painting takes patience to generate a beautiful quality finish and it also takes skill that’s developed with practice and experience. A professional will learn how to finish each of their preparation and painting tasks required to achieve the best outcome.
In Dublin, there are a number of options a professional painter and decorator can start to you, that you may not have the skills or expertise to do your self, including specific finishes (intumescent endings (which are fireproof), faux finishes and textured painting, by way of example).
A professional painter will also know the materials which are needed to do the job correctly. Which primer will offer the right coverage? Oil or latex? Matte, semi-gloss, high gloss? Which primer base is demanded? What paint foundation? Should the wall be well prepared with drywall compound or plaster? Spray or roller?
A professional painter will be able to recommend materials that are best to get the look you want, while avoiding any harm to your surfaces. With this advice, you can attain a greater quality finish that will last.
For exterior jobs, a professional will know the right weather, temperature and sun conditions to complete the job with the best results. Stains react differently in direct sunlight than when it is overcast, and at different temperatures. While rain clearly impacts the job, heat and humidity can also affect the quality of exterior paint finishes. A local professional painter will know the right stuff to use to make your exterior last as long as you can in Dublin’s climate.
