A “palmer” in medieval times was a pilgrim who returned from the Holy Land with a palm branch or leaf. Between 1185 and 1188 Ailred the Palmer and his wife took religious vows and founded a priory and monastic hospital of Crutched Friars outside the West Gate of Dublin, on the road to Kilmainham, which they endowed with all their property. In 1188 Pope Clement III confirmed the priory’s grants, including the both the parish of Palmerstown west of Kilmainham and the other parish of Palmerstown northwards in Fingal. Gerard Lee notes an association of palmers with leper hospitals, of which there was one dedicated to Saint Laurence in the townland of the same name in Palmerstown.

Commercial Painting Services in Palmerstown
Are you considering giving your house or business a new look? Do you need to repaint after a tenant has vacated your own property? Do you need to repair water stains on ceilings and walls or over walls where mould was removed? It could be tempting to do the job yourself, which may result in cost savings. But, there are many reasons you should consider selecting a professional painter and decorator support.
Prices of Equipment
Hiring a professional painter and decorator usually means that the painter comes with of the tools that they will require to perform the work properly, will wash up those tools whenever they are done and will take them away to be stored elsewhere.
Protection of Your Premises and Avoiding a Mess
A professional painter and decorator will have the ideal gear and be educated and knowledgeable about how to protect furniture, flooring, cupboards, paths and other items that you don’t need painted out of any damage. If your work entails staining, a professional will have the right equipment and experience to apply the stain correctly to attain the right finish and once achieved, protect the finish.
A professional painter may also completely clean up the work area when the project is finished.
Planning is Key
A professional painter and painter is going to learn that preparation is the key to a great looking, long-lasting paint job. The walls or other surfaces which have to be painted might have to be thoroughly cleaned, patched, decreased and/or primed. Areas with mold or water staining may require additional therapy and diluting until they are ready for a last paint job. It is a lot of work and if it is not done correctly with proper tools and methods, it won’t lead to a quality finish.
Skills and Patience
Painting takes patience to produce a beautiful excellent finish and in addition, it takes skill that’s developed with training and experience. A professional will understand how to complete all the preparation and painting tasks required to reach the best outcome.
Back in Dublin, there are a number of choices that a professional painter and decorator can start for you, which you could not have the skills or expertise to do your self, including special finishes (intumescent endings (which can be fireproof), faux finishes and textured painting, for example).
A professional painter will also understand the substances that are required to perform the work right. Which primer will offer the right coverage? Oil or latex? Which primer foundation is demanded? What paint base? Roller or spray?
A professional painter will have the ability to recommend materials which are better to achieve the look you need, while avoiding any damage to your surfaces. With that advice, you can achieve a greater quality finish that will endure.
For exterior jobs, a professional will understand the ideal weather, temperature and sunlight conditions to complete the job with all the best outcomes. Stains respond differently in direct sunshine than when it is overcast, and at different temperatures. While rain clearly impacts the job, humidity and heat may also impact the quality of exterior paint finishes. A regional expert painter will understand the right materials to use to make your exterior last as long as you can in Dublin’s climate.
Climbing on ladders while trying to apply paint correctly is a skilled job that takes careful focus and attention to avoid serious injury and damage. The higher the site which needs painting, the higher the danger of an accident. For interior jobs with high areas or exterior jobs, a professional painter may have all the tools and experience required to perform the work safely and correctly, including the proper size and layout of the ladder and scaffolding.
Your time is precious and painting yourself takes a significant quantity of time. Having a professional painter and decorator take care of the work for you can save you days and times of work, and can normally be achieved in a far shorter time period.
A research from Trinity College Dublin indicates the average Irish man needs 28 hours per day to accomplish all of his or her tasks. Avoid adding a paint job into that and talk to a professional painter about your requirements.
