Island Bridge (Irish: Droichead na hInse) (formerly Sarah or Sarah’s Bridge) is a road bridge spanning the River Liffey, in Dublin, Ireland and joining the South Circular Road to Conyngham Road at the Phoenix Park.

Island Bridge and the surrounding area are so named because of the island formed here by the creation of a mill race towards the right bank while the main current flows to the left. The River Camac emerges from a tunnel further downstream towards Dublin Heuston railway station.

In 1577, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth, while Sir Henry Sidney was Lord Deputy of Ireland, an arched stone bridge was built here to replace an earlier structure nearby at Kilmainham.

This bridge was swept away by a flood in 1787, and between 1791 and 1793 the replacement bridge, that is standing today, was constructed. The structure is a single 32-metre span ashlar masonry elliptical arch bridge and was originally named Sarah’s Bridge after Sarah Fane, Countess of Westmorland, wife of the then Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, who laid the first stone on 22 June 1791.

The bridge was renamed Island Bridge in 1922 following independence from Britain of the Free State, similarly to many other Dublin bridges originally named for British peers.

Areas with mold or water staining may require further therapy and patching before they are ready for a final paint job. It is a lot of work and if it’s not done properly with proper instruments and techniques, it won’t lead to a quality finish.

Painting takes patience to produce a gorgeous quality finish and in addition, it takes skill that’s developed with training and experience. An expert will understand how to finish all the preparation and painting jobs required to achieve the best effect.
Back in Dublin, there are a number of choices a professional painter and decorator may start for you, which you could not have the skills or expertise to do yourself, including specific finishes (intumescent finishes (that can be fireproof), faux finishes and textured painting, for example).
A professional painter will also understand the materials which are needed to do the job correctly. Which primer will offer the right coverage? Oil or latex? Matte, semi-gloss, high gloss? Which primer foundation is demanded? What paint foundation? Should the wall be well prepared with drywall compound or plaster? Roller or spray?
A professional painter will be able to recommend materials which are better to get the look you want, while preventing any harm to your surfaces. With this information, you can attain a higher quality finish that will last.
For exterior jobs, a specialist will know the right weather, temperature and sunlight conditions to complete the job with the best outcomes. Stains react differently in direct sunlight than when it is overcast, and at several temperatures. While rain clearly affects the job, humidity and heat may also affect the quality of exterior paint finishes.
