Island Bridge (Irish: Droichead na hInse) (formerly Sarah or Sarah’s Bridge) is a road bridge spanning the River Liffey, in Dublin, Ireland and joining the South Circular Road to Conyngham Road at the Phoenix Park.

Island Bridge and the surrounding area are so named because of the island formed here by the creation of a mill race towards the right bank while the main current flows to the left. The River Camac emerges from a tunnel further downstream towards Dublin Heuston railway station.

In 1577, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth, while Sir Henry Sidney was Lord Deputy of Ireland, an arched stone bridge was built here to replace an earlier structure nearby at Kilmainham.

This bridge was swept away by a flood in 1787, and between 1791 and 1793 the replacement bridge, that is standing today, was constructed. The structure is a single 32-metre span ashlar masonry elliptical arch bridge and was originally named Sarah’s Bridge after Sarah Fane, Countess of Westmorland, wife of the then Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, who laid the first stone on 22 June 1791.

The bridge was renamed Island Bridge in 1922 following independence from Britain of the Free State, similarly to many other Dublin bridges originally named for British peers.

Painters and Decorators Services in Islandbridge

Are you contemplating giving your house or business a fresh look? Do you have to repaint after a tenant has vacated your property? Do you have to repair water stains on ceilings and walls or over walls where mold has been eliminated? It may be tempting to do the task yourself, which may result in cost savings. But, there are many reasons you should consider selecting a professional painter and decorator service.

Costs of Equipment

Good painting of either interiors or exteriors requires an investment in gear — brushes, rollers, sprayers, tarp to protect surfaces and surfaces, ladders, scaffolding, sanders, compound knifes, patching materials, solvents, the list can quickly become long and expensive. Employing a professional painter and decorator usually means that the painter comes with the tools that they will need to do the work correctly, will clean those tools up when they are done and will take them away to be stored elsewhere.

Protection of Your Premises and Avoiding a Mess

A professional painter and decorator will have the ideal equipment and be educated and experienced with how to protect furniture, floors, cabinets, walkways and other things that you don’t want painted from any harm. If your work entails staining, a professional will have the correct equipment and experience to use the stain correctly to attain the right finish and once attained, shield that finish.
A professional painter will even thoroughly clean the work area once the project is finished.

Planning is Essential

An expert painter and painter will know that preparation is the key to a great looking, long-lasting paint job. The walls or other surfaces which need to be painted might have to be thoroughly cleaned, repaired, degreased and/or primed. Areas with mold or water staining may require additional therapy and patching before they are ready for a final paint job. It is a good deal of work and if it’s not done correctly with appropriate tools and techniques, it won’t lead to an excellent finish.

Skills and Patience

Painting requires patience to produce a beautiful excellent finish and it also takes skill that’s developed with practice and experience. An expert will learn how to complete each of their preparation and painting jobs required to achieve the best outcome.
Back in Dublin, there are a number of options a professional painter and decorator may open for you, that you may not have the skills or experience to do yourself, including special finishes (intumescent finishes (that are fireproof), faux finishes and textured painting, for instance ).
A professional painter will also know the materials which are required to do the job correctly. Which primer will offer the right coverage? Latex or oil? Which primer foundation is required? What paint base? Roller or spray?
A professional painter will have the ability to recommend materials which are better to get the look you want, while avoiding any harm to your surfaces. With that information, you can achieve a higher quality finish that will last.
For exterior jobs, a specialist will understand the ideal weather, temperature and sunlight conditions to finish the job with all the best outcomes. Stains react differently in direct sunshine than when it is overcast, and at different temperatures. While rain clearly impacts the job, humidity and heat may also affect the quality of exterior paint finishes. A regional professional painter will understand the proper materials to use to make your exterior last as long as you can in Dublin’s climate.

Security

Climbing on ladders while trying to apply paint correctly is a skilled job that takes careful focus and attention to prevent serious injury and harm. The higher the site which requires painting, the higher the danger of an accident. For interior projects with large areas or exterior jobs, a professional painter will have all the tools and expertise necessary to perform the work correctly and safely, including the proper size and design of the ladder and scaffolding.

Convenience

Your time is precious and painting yourself requires a substantial quantity of time. Using a professional painter and decorator deal with the work for you can save you days and days of effort, and can normally be achieved in a much shorter period of time.
A research from Trinity College Dublin suggests the average Irish man requires 28 hours daily to accomplish all his or her tasks. Prevent adding a paint job into this and speak to a professional painter about your requirements.
