Trim (Irish: Baile Átha Troim, meaning “town at the ford of elderflowers”) is a town in County Meath, Ireland. It is situated on the River Boyne and has a population of 9,194. The town is noted for Trim Castle – the largest Cambro-Norman castle in Ireland. One of the two cathedrals of the United Dioceses of Meath and Kildare — St Patrick’s cathedral — is located north of the river. Trim won the Irish Tidy Towns Competition in 1972, 1984, and 2014 and was the “joint” winner with Ballyconnell in 1974. Traditionally Trim was the county town of Meath, but this title was passed on over time onto larger, neighbouring town Navan
At an early date, a monastery was founded at Trim, which lay within the petty kingdom (tuath) of the Cenél Lóegairi. It is traditionally thought to have been founded by St. Patrick and left in the care of its patron saint Lommán, also locally known as Loman, who flourished sometime between the 5th and early 6th century. When domestic politics endangered the position of Lommán’s foundation, the church of Armagh assimilated Lommán into the dossier of St. Patrick, making him a disciple of that saint. Attackers burned the church several times in the twelfth century, during which it was refounded as an St. Mary’s Abbey under Augustinian rule. The abbey church was the sanctuary for “Our Lady of Trim”, a wooden statue reported to work miracles. The statue made Trim a major pilgrimage site from at least 1397. During the Reformation the statue was burned and Henry VIII dissolved the abbey. The abbey’s bell tower, the “Yellow Steeple”, is the primary remnant of St. Mary’s.

Commercial Painting Services in Trim, County Meath
Are you considering giving your home or business a fresh look? Do you need to repaint after a tenant has vacated your own property? Do you need to fix water stains on ceilings and walls or over walls in which mold was removed? It may be tempting to do the job yourself, which can lead to cost savings. But, there are many reasons you should consider selecting a professional painter and decorator support.
Costs of Equipment
Proper painting of interiors or exteriors requires an investment in equipment — brushes, rollers, sprayers, tarp to shield surfaces and floors, ladders, scaffolding, sanders, compound knifes, patching materials, solvents, the listing can quickly become long and pricey. Hiring a professional painter and decorator usually means that the painter comes with the tools that they will require to do the job properly, will clean those tools up when they are completed and will require them away to be stored elsewhere.
Protection of Your Premises and Avoiding a Mess
A professional painter and decorator will have the ideal gear and be educated and knowledgeable about the way to protect furniture, floors, cabinets, walkways and other items that you don’t want painted out of any damage. If your job entails staining, a professional will have the correct equipment and expertise to use the stain properly to achieve the right finish and once achieved, shield the finish.
A professional painter may even thoroughly clean the work area once the project is finished.
Preparation is Essential
An expert painter and painter will know that preparation is the trick to a good looking, long lasting paint job. The walls or other surfaces that need to be painted might need to be thoroughly cleaned, repaired, decreased and/or primed. Areas with mold or water staining may require additional therapy and diluting until they are ready for a final paint job. It is a good deal of work and if it’s not done correctly with appropriate tools and techniques, it won’t result in an excellent finish.
Skills and Patience
Painting takes patience to produce a beautiful quality finish and in addition, it takes skill that is developed with practice and experience. An expert will understand how to finish all their preparation and painting jobs involved to reach the best outcome.
Back in Dublin, there are a number of options that a professional painter and decorator can open to you, which you could not have the skills or expertise to do yourself, including specific finishes (intumescent endings (which can be fireproof), faux finishes and textured painting, for instance ).
A professional painter will also understand the materials that are required to do the job correctly. Which primer will offer the correct coverage? Oil or latex? Matte, semi-gloss, high gloss? Which primer base is required? What paint base? Roller or spray?
A professional painter will be able to recommend materials that are better to achieve the look you want, while avoiding any harm to your surfaces. With this advice, you can achieve a higher quality finish that will endure.
For outdoor tasks, a professional will understand the right weather, temperature and sunlight conditions to finish the job with the best outcomes. Stains react differently in direct sunshine than when it’s overcast, and at different temperatures. While rain clearly impacts the job, heat and humidity can also affect the quality of outside paint finishes.
Climbing on ladders while attempting to apply paint correctly is a skilled job which takes careful attention and focus to avoid serious injury and damage. The greater the site which needs painting, the greater the danger of an accident. For interior projects with large areas or exterior jobs, a professional painter may have all the resources and expertise necessary to do the work correctly and safely, including the proper dimensions and design of the ladder and scaffolding.
Your time is valuable and painting yourself requires a substantial quantity of time. Having a professional painter and decorator deal with the job for you can save you days and days of work, and can normally be achieved in a much shorter period of time.
A research from Trinity College Dublin suggests the average Irish person requires 28 hours per day to accomplish all his or her tasks. Prevent adding a paint job to this and speak to a professional painter about your needs.
