Summerhill (Irish: Cnoc an Línsigh) is a designated heritage village in County Meath, Ireland. It is located at the intersection of the R156 and R158 regional roads and is part of the Laracor civil parish. The Irish version of the town’s name means “Lynch’s Hill”, and it was the ancestral home of the Norman-Irish Lynch family, whence came the Galway merchant family of the same name – one of the “Tribes of Galway”. It is also the site of one of the most important battles in 17th century Ireland, the Battle of Dungan’s Hill. The town was known in English as ‘The Knock’ or ‘Lynchs’ Knock’ (phonetic renderings of Cnoc an Línsigh, Lynchs’ hill) until about 1667 when it was renamed Summerhill. The ruins of the large Lynch castle can be seen in the village today.

Are you considering giving your home or business a fresh look? Do you have to repaint after a tenant has vacated your own property? Do you have to fix water stains on ceilings and walls or over walls in which mold has been removed? It could be tempting to do the job yourself, which may result in cost savings. But, there are lots of reasons you should consider selecting a professional painter and decorator support.
Costs of Equipment
Hiring a professional painter and decorator usually means that the painter comes with of the tools they will require to do the job correctly, will clean those tools up whenever they’re completed and will take them away to be stored elsewhere.
Protection of Your Premises and Avoiding a Mess
A professional painter and decorator will have the ideal gear and be knowledgeable and experienced with how to shield furniture, floors, cabinets, walkways and other items which you don’t need painted out of any harm. If your work entails staining, a professional will have the right equipment and expertise to apply the stain properly to achieve the right finish and once achieved, protect that finish.
A professional painter will even thoroughly clean up the work area when the project is finished.
Planning is Essential
A professional painter and painter is going to learn that preparation is the trick to a good looking, long-lasting paint job. The walls or other surfaces that need to be painted might have to be thoroughly cleaned, repaired, degreased and/or primed. Areas with mold or water staining may require further treatment and patching before they are ready for a final paint job. It’s a lot of work and if it is not done properly with appropriate tools and methods, it won’t result in an excellent finish.
Skills and Patience
Painting takes patience to produce a gorgeous quality finish and in addition, it takes skill that is developed with training and experience. An expert will understand how to complete all their preparation and painting jobs involved to reach the best effect.
A professional painter will also understand the materials which are needed to do the job correctly. Which primer will provide the right coverage? Oil or latex? Matte, semi-gloss, high gloss? Which primer base is demanded? What paint base? If the wall be prepared with drywall compound or plaster? Spray or roller?
A professional painter will have the ability to recommend materials which are better to achieve the look you want, while preventing any damage to your surfaces. With this information, you can achieve a higher quality finish that will endure.
For outdoor tasks, a professional will know the right weather, temperature and sun conditions to finish the job with the best outcomes. Stains respond differently in direct sunlight than when it’s overcast, and at several temperatures. While rain obviously affects the job, heat and humidity may also impact the quality of exterior paint finishes. A local professional painter will know the right materials to use to make your exterior last as long as possible in Dublin’s climate.

Increasing on ladders while trying to apply paint correctly is a skilled job that takes careful focus and attention to avoid serious injury and damage. The greater the site which requires painting, the greater the risk for an accident. For interior jobs with high areas or outside jobs, an expert painter will have all the resources and experience necessary to do the job correctly and safely, including the proper dimensions and layout of ladder and scaffolding.
Your time is valuable and painting yourself requires a substantial quantity of time. Having a professional painter and decorator deal with the job for you can save you days and days of effort, and can normally be done in a far shorter period of time.
A research from Trinity College Dublin suggests the average Irish man requires 28 hours per day to accomplish all his or her tasks. Avoid including a paint job to that and talk to a professional painter about your needs.
