Fingal (English: /ˈfɪŋɡəl/FING-gəl; from Irish Fine Gall, meaning ‘foreign tribe’) is a county in Ireland. It is located in the province of Leinster and, within that, is part of the Dublin Region. Its name is derived from the medieval territory of Scandinavian foreigners (Irish: gaill) that settled in the area. Fingal County Council is the local authority for the county. In 2016 the population of the county was 296,214, making it the second-most populous county in the state.
Fingal is one of three counties into which County Dublin was divided in 1994. Swords is the county town. The other large urban centre is Blanchardstown. Smaller towns include Balbriggan and Malahide. Suburban villages with extensive housing include Baldoyle, Castleknock, Howth (and Sutton), Lusk, Portmarnock, Skerries. Small rural settlements exist in the northern and western parts of the county. The motto of the arms of Fingal reads Irish: Flúirse Talaimh is Mara meaning “Abundance of Land and Water”. The motto reflects the strong farming and fishing ties historically associated with the area. It also features a Viking longboat, which represents the arrival of the Norse in Fingal, where they became integrated with the existing Irish.
Fingal is bordered by County Meath to the north, by Kildare to the west and by Dublin city to the south. At the Strawberry Beds, the River Liffey separates the county from South Dublin.

Painting and Decorating Services in Fingal
Are you considering giving your home or business a fresh look? Do you need to repaint after a tenant has vacated your own property? Do you have to fix water stains on walls and ceilings or over walls in which mold was removed? It may be tempting to do the job yourself, which may result in cost savings. However, there are many reasons you should consider selecting a professional painter and decorator service.
Prices of Equipment
Hiring a professional painter and decorator usually means that the painter comes will all of the tools that they will require to perform the work correctly, will wash those tools up when they’re done and will take them away to be saved elsewhere.
Protection of Your Premises and Avoiding a Mess
A professional painter and decorator will have the ideal equipment and be educated and knowledgeable about how to shield furniture, flooring, cabinets, walkways and other items that you don’t need painted out of any damage. If your work involves staining, a professional will have the right equipment and experience to use the stain properly to attain the perfect finish and once attained, protect that finish.
A professional painter will also completely clean the work area once the project is completed.
Preparation is Key
An expert painter and painter will know that preparation is the trick to a great looking, long-lasting paint job. The walls or other surfaces which need to be painted may need to be thoroughly cleaned, patched, degreased and/or primed. Areas with mold or water staining may require further treatment and patching before they are ready for a last paint job. It’s a good deal of work and if it’s not done properly with appropriate tools and techniques, it will not result in a quality finish.
Skills and Patience
Painting takes patience to generate a gorgeous excellent finish and it also takes skill that’s developed with training and expertise. A professional will learn how to complete all their preparation and painting jobs required to achieve the best outcome.
A professional painter will also understand the materials that are needed to do the job correctly. Which primer will offer the correct coverage? Latex or oil? Which primer foundation is required? What paint base? Spray or roller?
A professional painter will have the ability to recommend materials which are best to achieve the look you want, while preventing any harm to your surfaces. With this advice, you can achieve a greater quality finish that will last.
For outdoor tasks, a professional will understand the right weather, temperature and sun conditions to complete the job with all the best results. Stains react differently in direct sunshine than when it is overcast, and at several temperatures. While rain obviously impacts the job, humidity and heat may also affect the quality of outside paint finishes.
Increasing on ladders while trying to apply paint correctly is a skilled job that requires careful attention and focus to prevent severe injury and harm. The higher the site which requires painting, the greater the risk for an accident. For interior jobs with high areas or exterior jobs, an expert painter may have all the tools and experience required to do the job correctly and safely, including the right size and layout of the ladder and scaffolding.
Your time is valuable and painting yourself requires a substantial quantity of time. Having a professional painter and decorator take care of the work for you can save you days and days of work, and can usually be achieved in a much shorter time period.
A research from Trinity College Dublin indicates that the average Irish person requires 28 hours per day to accomplish all of his or her tasks. Avoid adding a paint job into that and speak to a professional painter about your needs.
