Donacarney (Irish: Domhnach Cearnaigh or Domhnach Cairnigh) is a village in the area known as East Meath in County Meath,Ireland, close to Drogheda and the border with County Louth. It contains one church, two estates, two schools, one pub and the DSE. Although it includes the townlands of Donacarney Great and Donacarney Little, most locals would never use those terms in describing Donacarney. The remains of a late-medieval tower house (see picture to right) is sited close to Donacarney Cross. It is described in the Civil Survey (1654-56) as ‘an ould Castle’. It appears in this state on a map of 1771.
Donacarney contains two schools: One boys school and a girls school. Roughly 600 pupils attend both schools. The schools share the same campus. The name of the school is Réalt ná Mara B.N.S and Réalt ná Mara G.N.S respectively. The Old School Hall replaced by the current schools in 1965 originally opened in 1873. The red-bricked building, beside the forge and old village water-pump at Donacarney cross, now serves as a community centre. It is also used as the local polling centre in elections. The school was given planning permission for a new school in 2012. The school will cost €500,000 to build including land buying. The government though will only pay €100,000. The school has all ready made over €150,000 from a raffle held in March 2008.

Painters and Decorators Services in Donacarney
Are you contemplating giving your home or business a new look? Do you have to repaint after a tenant has vacated your own property? Do you have to repair water stains on ceilings and walls or over walls in which mould has been eliminated? It could be tempting to do the job yourself, which can result in cost savings. However, there are many reasons you should consider selecting a professional painter and decorator service.
Prices of Equipment
Employing a professional painter and decorator means that the painter comes with of the tools that they will need to do the job correctly, will clean up those tools when they are completed and will take them away to be stored elsewhere.
Protection of Your Property and Avoiding a Mess
A professional painter and decorator will have the right gear and be educated and experienced with how to protect furniture, flooring, cupboards, paths and other items which you don’t need painted from any harm. If your work entails staining, an expert will have the right equipment and expertise to use the stain properly to achieve the perfect finish and once attained, protect the finish.
A professional painter will also thoroughly clean up the work area once the project is finished.
Preparation is Key
A professional painter and painter will know that preparation is the key to a good looking, long lasting paint job. The walls or other surfaces which need to be painted may have to be thoroughly cleaned, patched, degreased and/or primed. Areas with water or mold staining may require further therapy and patching before they are ready for a last paint job. It’s a good deal of work and if it is not done properly with appropriate tools and techniques, it will not lead to a quality finish.
Skills and Patience
Painting requires patience to produce a gorgeous excellent finish and it also takes skill that is developed with training and expertise. A professional will understand how to complete all their preparation and painting jobs required to achieve the best outcome.
In Dublin, there are a number of options a professional painter and decorator can open to you, that you may not have the skills or expertise to do your self, including specific finishes (intumescent endings (which can be fireproof), faux finishes and textured painting, for example).
A professional painter may also understand the substances that are required to perform the work correctly. Which primer will offer the right coverage? Oil or latex? Which primer base is required? What paint foundation? Spray or roller?
A professional painter will be able to recommend materials which are best to get the look you need, while preventing any harm to your surfaces. With that advice, you can achieve a higher quality finish that will last.
For outdoor tasks, a professional will understand the ideal weather, temperature and sun conditions to complete the job with the best results. Stains react differently in direct sunshine than when it is overcast, and at different temperatures. While rain clearly affects the job, heat and humidity can also affect the quality of outside paint finishes. A local professional painter will know the right materials to use to make your exterior last as long as you can in Dublin’s climate.
Increasing on ladders while trying to apply paint correctly is a skilled job that requires careful focus and attention to avoid severe injury and damage. The greater the site that requires painting, the higher the risk for an accident. For inside jobs with large areas or outside jobs, a professional painter will have all the resources and experience required to do the job safely and correctly, including the right dimensions and design of ladder and scaffolding.
Your time is precious and painting yourself takes a substantial quantity of time. Having a professional painter and decorator deal with the work for you can save you days and days of work, and can usually be done in a far shorter time period.
A research from Trinity College Dublin indicates the average Irish man needs 28 hours daily to accomplish all his or her tasks. Avoid adding a paint job into that and speak to a professional painter about your needs.
